One of the most common mistakes I see candidates make is that they try to come across as being too perfect. This can make them seem arrogant or like they’re trying to hide something. Additionally, I see a lot of candidates make the mistake of not doing their homework and not being prepared to answer questions about the company’s financials. Finally, I sometimes see candidates get too caught up in the numbers and lose sight of the bigger picture.What is your favorite interview question to ask candidates for a CFO position? My favorite interview question to ask candidates for a CFO position is “What do you think is the most important quality for a successful CFO? ” This question allows me to get a better understanding of how the candidate thinks and what they believe is important in this role. It also allows me to see if their values align with those of the company.
