The egocentric bias

This is the tendency to view the world from our own perspective or interests, and to underestimate or ignore the perspectives or interests of others. For example, if we are hiring for a position that we used to hold or that is important to us, we may be more likely to prioritize our own preferences or expectations, and to overlook or dismiss the needs or goals of the team or the organization. The egocentric bias can cause us to make selfish or self-centered hiring decisions, and it can lead us to overlook the value of collaboration, alignment, or accountability in the hiring process.
